Purpose and Application of Hardness Test Rod Type 318
Modern manufacturing processes require efficient testing methods that are fast, direct, accurate, anytime, anywhere.
This instrument is designed to measure the hardness of protective coatings. The hardness of paint films and plastic coatings can be accurately measured and recorded using a 318 hardness test rod, and the measuring surface can be flat or curved, regardless of size.

The instrument is always in standby mode. It can be carried in a pocket and used for various hardness tests.

Unified hardness and coating quality are beneficial for smooth production. Deviation from the specified hardness may result in returns, production delays, and complaints. Developed by Robert Bosch GmbH and manufactured by Yilixin, the instrument complies with the conventional quality control of protective coatings, even during the production process.

The 318 hardness test rod provides engineers, plumbers, monitoring personnel, and other related personnel with a testing instrument that can meet various requirements for smooth production operation.

The portable 318 hardness test rod is particularly easy to use. The estimated or known spring pressure can be set through the sliding rod. Place the instrument vertically on the testing surface and draw a 5-10 mm straight line at a speed of 10 mm/sec. The test head will produce a scratch that is only visible to the naked eye. If the spring pressure is too high, scratches will be very clear, and if the spring pressure is too low, no scratches will appear. By locking the slider, the required pressure can be controlled each time, in newtons.
The scale engraved on the pen includes three pressure ranges:
0-3 N (marked with blue)
0-10 N (marked in red)
0-20 N (highlighted in yellow)
Each spring corresponding to the pressure range has a color code corresponding to the scale.
Maintenance and repair
A clean instrument can produce a clean test result. To clean, loosen the nut and remove the scale pen. Clean the rod and hole with a soft cloth. In addition, the instrument does not require further maintenance.

Although the structure of the 318 hardness test rod is sturdy, the test head cannot withstand significant impact. The wooden box accompanying the instrument provides such a protective function. When not in use, the slider should be set to zero position to protect the accuracy of the spring.
